Officials are responding to a shooting at a student housing complex at Texas Southern University.
The incident was reported to police at 11:30am UTC and the campus is currently on lockdown. University officials released the following statement on Facebook.
"Texas Southern University has announced the campus is on lockdown following a shooting

ABC13 reports that one of the victims has died and one suspect has been taken into custody.
The incident is the third shooting near the TSU campus in the past two months.
College officials announced on Twitter that classes would be cancelled for the remainder of the day. The university has roughly 9,700 students enrolled in classes.
