Liverpool are interested in making a double bid for Spanish defenders
Alberto Moreno and Javier Manquillo as they look to build on their
impressive 2013/14 campaign.
According to the Daily Star,
Brendan Rodgers has been given the financial backing to add both Moreno
and Manquillo to his squad as Liverpool prepare for their return to the
Champions League this season.
Liverpool were reportedly unwilling to match Sevilla's valuation of Moreno, believed to be £20 million,.
Reports
now suggest that move could be on and Liverpool have sent the club's
managing director, Ian Ayre, to Spain in order to conclude the deal.
Whilst in Spain, Ayre will be trying to wrap up negotiations with Atletico Madrid for right back Javi Manquillo.
Manquillo
is considered to be one of Spain's brightest young talents after being
capped at every age group level for Spain. During the 2013/14 seaons,
Manquillo forced his way into La Liga champions first team squad.
