USA: Alabama councilman says God told him to ban saggy pants

God will not allow you into heaven if you’re wearing saggy pants, short skirts or any type of revealing clothing, says a few local officials in Dadeville, Alabama.

City Council member Frank Goodman is planning to introduce a local dress code, banning any of the aforementioned clothing in his small town because he simply cannot stand it any longer.
“We have a lot of older people here who don’t want to see it. A lot of middle-aged people don’t want to see it either. They don’t want to see anybody walking around with their pants down with underwear that is showing,” he told the Daily Beast.
Councilman Goodman said he’d prayed about the issue for some time, and said that “God would not go around with pants down.”
City Council member Stephanie Kelley also said she supported the dress code, saying that women also present a problem.
“I think for the girls, with these shorts up so high looking like under garments and dresses so short, I don’t want us to be showing favoritism,” she told the Alex City Outlook.
Other counties across the states have tried similar bans. A judge in Riviera Beach, Florida ruled the saggy pants ban as unconstitutional, the Associated Press reported in 2008.
One notable public figure who was gravely concerned with the baggy pants epidemic: Bill Cosby.
