Police: 5 Students Detained for Plotting to Attack School

Police have detained five New Jersey fifth-graders for allegedly plotting to attack a high school during a field trip.
The students from School 11 in Clifton were detained on Wednesday.
Police say they brought a device to school and were planning on using it during a field trip to Clifton High School. The device was later determined to be non-explosive.

Nigerian Minister: Fuel scarcity will be over in days

Lai-MohammedThe Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has assured that the current fuel scarcity in the country will be over in a matter of days, following the approval of the subsidy payment by the National Assembly.
The minister, who gave the assurance during a visit to the headquarters of the Daily Trust newspaper in Abuja, yesterday, explained that the N521 billion approved by the National Assembly, as part of the supplementary budget of N574.4 billion, would be enough to cover the fuel subsidy till the end of the year.

Mariah Carey rushed to hospital for severe flu

Mariah Carey was taken to a hospital in New York on Wednesday, due to a severe flu. The singer is reportedly currently hooked up to IVs that are filling her up with fluids and vitamins to fight off the symptoms. She’s slated to perform a special concert on Saturday in New Jersey, but that remains up in the air right now.


Carey reportedly began feeling ill after an appearance at New York’s Pier One on Tuesday night. On Wednesday morning she suffered from extreme dehydration, Carey’s team rushed her to the hospital. The singer is said to be making a steady recover, and is expected to be released sometime later in the day.

Cameroon special force kill 100 boko haram members, free 900 hostages

100 Boko Haram members were recently killed in a "special clean-up operation" by Cameroon's security force last week. A statement by the Cameroonian Defence Minister Joseph Beti Assomo released today, says the special clean up operation took place along Cameroonian towns that were on the border with Nigeria from 26 to 28 November.

Security man jailed for raping 15-year-old boy

An Igbosere Magistrate’s Court judge, Magistrate O. A Ogunbowale of Lagos State remanded 45-year-old security man, Musa Mohammed in prison for allegedly raping a 15-year-old boy.
Musa is facing a two -count charge of assault and rape.
