Paris attacks: Hero threw himself in front of bullet to save woman

One of the victims of the Paris attacks on Friday, Ludovic Boumbas, reportedly died after throwing himself in front of a bullet to save a woman who is fighting for her life in hospital, a report said on Monday.Boumbas, originally from Congo, was at a friend's 35th birthday party at one of the restaurants, La Belle Equipe, targeted by gunmen during the wave of shootings and bombings claimed by the Islamic State (ISIS) group.
According to the Daily Mail, Boumbas threw himself in front of the woman, as a shower of bullets rained down on unsuspecting customers.
Boumbas's friend also died along with her sister.
His friends, the report said, have since paid tribute to his selfless bravery and called him "a hero".
"Ludo [Boumbas] threw himself forward to protect a girl and took the bullet. She was also shot, but she survived and is in hospital," an unnamed friend was
quoted as saying.
AFP reported over the weekend that two Tunisian sisters living in France were among the 19 people killed at the same restaurant.
"The women, aged 34 and 35, were from the Tunisian town of Menzel Bourguiba but living in Creusot in central France," foreign ministry spokesperson Naoufel Laabidi was quoted as saying.
The two sisters who were identified as Houda and Halima Ben Khalifa Saadi had travelled to Paris to celebrate the birthday.
Daily Mail said their brothers Khaled and Bashir tried to save the two as they died on the floor in their arms.
