A miner was killed at Mimosa platinum mine in Zimbabwe, the company said on Wednesday.
"Aquarius
deeply regrets to advise that an employee of JV entity Mimosa Platinum
Limited was fatally injured in a fall of ground incident on 24 August
2015. There were no other injuries. The Aquarius board and management
express their sincere condolences to the family of the deceased," the
company said in a statement.
"The name of the deceased is being
withheld until the next of kin have been informed. The relevant
regulatory authorities have been informed and a full investigation is
under way.
Mimosa is jointly held by Implats and Aquarius Platinum Limited (Aquarius) in a 50/50 joint venture.
According
to its website, it is located on the Wedza Geological Complex on the
Zimbabwean Great Dyke, 20km west of the town of Zvishavane and 150km
east of Bulawayo.
