Care worker who abducted five-year-old Muslim girl jailed for at least 40 years
A former day care worker convicted of dressing in traditional Muslim clothes in order to abduct a five-year-old girl, has been told she will spend at least 40 years in jail. Prosecutors said 22-year-old Christina Regusters wore the clothes and veil to impersonate the girl’s mother and take her from her Philadelphia
classroom. She later sexually assaulted the child, after taking her in January 2103.
On Monday, Regusters apologised in court and insisted was not "a monster". The child was found half-naked but alive, the following morning.

Trump hotels after its payment systems were hacked for nearly a year.The Trump Hotel Collection says on its website that hackers gained access to its systems between May 2014 and June 2015 at the front desk of those hotels. Hotel restaurants and gift were also hacked.
Potential thefts occurred at the Trump SoHo New York, Trump International New York, Trump National Doral in Miami, Trump International Chicago, Trump International Waikiki in Hawaii, Trump International Hotel and Tower Las Vegas and Trump International Toronto.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is chair and president of Trump Hotel and three of his children have executive roles.

Car bomb attacks kill 37 people in Iraq
At least 37 people were killed on Monday in car bomb attacks in
Baghdad and the north and south of Iraq, police and medical sources
said.One attack took place near a crowded market in the town of Khalis, about 80km northeast of Baghdad, killing 15 people, police said.
"The driver begged police to be allowed to park his vehicle in order to buy medication from a nearby pharmacy and five minutes later it [the bomb] went off and caused huge destruction," police captain Mohammed al-Tamimi said.
In the town of Al Zubair, about 15km southwest of the oil town of Basra, a second attack took place also near a crowded market. Ten people died.
Another car bomb exploded in the Hussainiya district of the northern outskirts of Baghdad, killing 12 people, police and medical sources said.

More than 40 of Syria's most powerful rebel factions said on Monday
that Russia's air campaign had made a political solution to the
country's bloody conflict impossible. In a statement posted online, 41 groups including Jaish al-Islam near Damascus, Ahrar al-Sham in northwest Syria, and the Northern Front said that Russia's "brutal occupation has cut the road to any political solution".
The statement also urged the creation of a regional coalition to combat both the Syrian regime and its allies Iran and Russia.
Russian warplanes have been flying over Syrian territory since Wednesday, conducting air strikes on what Moscow says are Islamic State group targets in the northern and central provinces.
Although some of the raids have struck ISIS bastions in Raqa and Homs provinces, many have hit bases held by other rebel and Islamist groups.

Sinkhole in St Albans opens up on residential street
A massive sinkhole has opened up on a residential street in St Albans.Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service published a photograph of the hole outside two houses on what looks to be a residential street.
The 65ft (20m) diameter hole spreads across a front garden and a driveway on Fontmell Close and is 33ft (10m) deep.

A new British law banning smoking in cars while children are present
came into effect on Thursday but police representatives said it will be
"extremely challenging" to enforce.Under the changes, which apply only in England and Wales, anyone found to be smoking with a passenger under 18 in the vehicle could be fined 50 pounds, even if the windows are open.

Someone is murdered in one of Brazil's regional capitals almost every
half an hour on average, according to a study released on Wednesday.The study, by the research group Brazilian Public Security Forum, said that there were 15 932 intentional homicides in 2014 in the country's 26 state capitals and the federal capital Brasilia - the equivalent of about 1.81 murders an hour.
"The results paint an extremely worrying picture," the group's executive director, Samira Bueno, said, calling levels of violence are "higher than can be imagined."
In 2013, the total number of murders in the country's capitals was 15 804, according to the study.
